I'm Beau Johnson. I build software with AI in public — on YouTube, where I share full builds, tool breakdowns, and head-to-head benchmarks of AI coding agents, and on the Build In Public podcast, where I talk with founders shipping real products.
I started Shipping Skool because most people with a good app idea get stuck in the same places: they don't know which tools to use, they get lost in tutorials, or they hit an error loop and quit. AI changed what one person can build — but only if you learn how to work with it.
What Shipping Skool is
Shipping Skool is a free community where builders learn to turn ideas into real, deployed products with AI. We run 4 live build sessions every week, keep our courses updated weekly, and teach both the tools (Claude Code, Codex, Google AI Studio, Hermes) and the fundamentals underneath them — APIs, databases, auth, MCP, and security.
What we believe
- Ship one real thing. A deployed app with one user teaches more than ten finished tutorials.
- Work with AI, don't outsource to it. The skill is describing the product clearly and checking the result.
- Test, don't trust. We benchmark tools on real builds instead of repeating launch claims.
