00Anthropic just made a move that's going to reshape the entire AI landscape, and I don't think most people realize how big this actually is. So, the co-founder, Jack Clark, he just launched something called Anthropic Institute. Very cool. And on the surface, you might think, "Okay, this is just another AI safety organization, blah, blah, blah." But, here's the thing that's blowing my mind is that this guy has inside information from one of the most advanced AI labs on the planet, and now he's using it to directly influence AI policy and public benefit work. So, if you think about what's happening here, like while OpenAI is dealing with board drama with Sam Altman and then power struggles and all that going on, Google is scrambling to keep up with OpenAI,

45and Anthropic is playing a completely different game on a whole different level. They have shipped so many features recently that it's hard to keep up with. They're not just building like the technology, they're building the narrative, and they're building trust with their users. So, they've been positioning themselves as responsible AI company, simultaneously printing money. So, I'm going to break it all down because I do think that this is one of the smartest strategic moves I've seen in the tech industry in quite some time. First, let's talk about the timing of this all. This announcing comes right as Claude Code is absolutely crushing it in the developer market. We're talking about a $2.5 billion run rate. That's not small money. That's OpenAI level revenue, and they're doing it while maintaining this whole safety-first

30brand image. Now, I use Claude every single day in my workflow. I have been. I built my three SaaS apps with Claude Code. I use Opus 4.6 in the mission control dashboard behind me through Open Claw, and I haven't looked back since. So, my whole content automation system runs on basically Anthropic's infrastructure. So, I've got agents running on Open Claw that interface with the Claude's APIs and from a technical standpoint, Claude code is probably one of the best frontier models that you can get going when you're setting up your open claw. The code quality is incredible. Things do still break, but just left off less often versus using a lower model like through open router. So

15when I'm building next JS apps or working on the database migrations, Claude understands the context much better than an open AI model. Um and that's been the case as I've been building this dashboard out. So what is really interesting, while developers are absolutely loving Claude code, the regular Claude.ai interface gets constant complaints. People say it's too slow, the interface is clunky, it doesn't feel as polished as like a chat GPT. And you know what? Anthropic probably doesn't care that much because uh they don't care about the competitors. They're not trying to win the consumer chat battle. They're playing a much bigger game. Think about it from like the co-founder Jack Clark's perspective, this guy literally helped found Anthropic specifically because he

01was concerned about the AI safety and open AI. So he saw what was happening there, the commercial pressures, the rush to the market, and he said, "We need to do this differently." So he leaves and starts Anthropic with Dario and Daniela. Um and they end up building this company out around constitutional AI and safety principles. So 3 years later and yes, it's been 3 years, which is crazy in AI, that's like 300. Uh they've got a product that's technically superior in many ways. Like if you're a builder and you love to create things, I do feel like Claude is the best, the way to go, especially if you're wanting to get into learning to use like Claude code to build your apps. The main thing

46is like they're generating billions of dollars in revenue. And Clark is launching this institute to basically become the trusted voice on AI policy. And that's not just a coincidence, it's a pretty good strategy. Here's what I think is really happening is Anthropic looked at the landscape and realized that whoever becomes the most trusted AI company is going to win in the long run. And this is why I believe that we're seeing a push towards local models. While they might not ever be as good as frontier models, they may eventually catch up. But there's a safety concern when it comes to it. To be able to run your local large language model on a machine behind you locally and not having to access the cloud where you're making API calls, there's a good

32security, you know, risk that you're taking when you're giving everything to the cloud and, you know, calling an API every time. So, having something locally is going to be a lot more safer and I think that's the route that a lot of people are going to choose, especially when you start dealing with bigger corporations and handling large amounts of private data. So, this isn't just to like win customers on Anthropic's side, but a regulatory favor. Win public opinion, win government contracts. And the way you become the most trusted AI company is not by having like the flashiest demos or the best marketing tutorial. It's by actually being responsible and having a track record to prove it. So, the Anthropic Institute gives Clark a platform to influence AI governance from a position of authority.

17He's not just some outside critic or academic researcher. He's someone who actually is building a frontier AI system and can speak with real credibility about the challenges and the risks. So, this matters way more than like people realize because we're headed into a period where AI regulation is about to get pretty real. When the government starts cracking down, things start to divide. So, the EU is basically has this AI Act that's already in effect. The US is working on executive orders and potential legislation. China has their own AI regulations and whoever has the ear of policy makers is going to have the massive advantage. The smartest part about all this is Clark is out here being the responsible voice in AI policy. Anthropic is the company that is

04quietly dominating the developer market. Claude code isn't just good, it's the best. It's becoming essential for a lot of developers. I talked to people in the Shipping School community who switched from open AI models and convincing them to switch to using Claude's models and they're realizing that it's just much better. The output is better, the code is better and even just the chat from being more personable is just a better experience. So, the partnerships are insane that are going on. Nvidia's got its own thing going on. It's basically controlling the infrastructure that all the AI is running on right now. It's deepening their relationship with Anthropic as well. Google, who we would think would be like the big competitor in the space, is also partnering more closely with them. These aren't just

49small partnerships. These are strategic alliances that give Anthropic access to the best hardware and cloud infrastructure. So, let me get to the technical side for a bit and break it all down because I think this is where Anthropic real advantage lies in all this. The Constitutional AI, which is the core approach, isn't just about safety, it's about consistency and reliability. So, when you're using Claude code to generate code base schemas or API endpoints, I know that the output is actually going to follow the best practices. I don't have to worry about generating insecure code and making architectural mistakes that I'll have to fix later. So, compare that to like an open AI model, GPT-4, whatever you want to compare it to, which is

35incredibly capable but can be unpredictable. Sometimes it gives you brilliant code and then sometimes it's eating crayons in the corner. Sometimes it hallucinates functions that don't exist. Sometimes it suggests depreciated methods that are outdated. With Claude, there is a consistency that makes it work and makes it more valuable for production. And this is why the user experience complaints about Claude.ai don't really matter at all in the big picture. Consumers might prefer ChatGPT's interface, but developers, the one who are building things like you and I, are choosing Claude for the work that actually matters. The two and a half billion-dollar run rate isn't coming from casual users asking for recipe suggestions. While that's amazing, it's coming from companies actually integrating with Claude in their

20development workflows, their customer service systems, and their data analysis pipelines. I see this in my own usage patterns just on a much smaller scale. When I'm building something in the mission control or sending up new agents in open claw, I reach for Claude. Nine to nine out of the 10 agents that run are either using Sonnet 4 6 or Opus 4 6. I do have some smaller cron jobs that run through open router, and that's it. Not because the web interface is better, that you know, I'm using still Claude on the desktop as well to manage my resale business, but it's just because I get better reasoning. I get better code output when I'm using Claude code, and it's just more reliable. Here's where it gets more interesting from like a competitive standpoint is OpenAI is dealing with internal chaos, leadership

05changes, and philosophical disagreements about the direction of the entire company. It just seems like it's a mess right now. Google has incredible resources, but they're still playing catch-up on the product side. Microsoft has stopped making Xboxes, which is crazy, but Microsoft has a good integration with existing tools, and they're dependent on OpenAI's technology. In the meanwhile, Anthropic is just executing. They're building better models. They're signing strategic partnerships. They're generating massive revenue, and now they're influencing policy conversation basically through the institute. Can you imagine what's going to happen when Claude 5 comes out? Let's just say Opus 5, Sonnet 5. It's already really good now. Well, what happens when that drops in the next month or two? It's going to be a big

52step in the right direction for Anthropic. So, I really think it's like Anthropic's playing chess while everyone's playing checkers. It's just a whole different game that everyone else is playing. The institute specifically is such a smart move because it gives them credibility in conversations where they might otherwise be seen as just another profit driven tech young. We don't need another one of those. So, when Jack Clark speaks about AI safety or governance, he's not speaking as a lobbyist or a corporate representative. He's speaking as someone from an institute focused on public benefit. But make no mistake, this benefits Anthropic, the entire company. Every time Clark is quoted in a policy discussion or testifies before Congress or influences an international AI safety

37framework, he's implicitly positioning Anthropic as the responsible choice. The timing couldn't be better because we're at this inflection point where AI is moving from more of an experimental to essential stage. Companies that were just testing AI for fun 6 months ago are actually deploying them in production, hence why you see a lot of layoffs happening. Kind of scary. Governments that were ignoring AI are now scrambling to understand and regulate it. The decisions being made right now are going to determine the AI landscape for the next decade. From a builder's perspective and what does this even matter for you and I is it matters because it affects the tools that we can rely on long term. So, if you're building a business on top of AI APIs and you want to choose what platforms

23that are going to be stable, reliable, and have good relationships with regulators, you don't want to build on a platform that might get restricted or regulated out of existence. That's a terrible way, especially if you're selling something as a service or an agency. It's like, "Whoops, sorry, all your models are gone. Your product doesn't work." That's not a good idea. So, I've been thinking about this more and more. I've been building out our agent team and our infrastructure. And right now, I'm running everything through Open Claw, basically locally on this Mac mini behind. Which gives me more control and keeps the cost down. I'm on the $200 a month subscription plan with Anthropic, and it's been handling everything. So, since Claude models are so good, I'm always leaning towards Claude because I think Anthropic is just has the best long-term

09positioning. They've got technical capabilities locked down, they've got business momentum, they've got strategic partnerships, and now they have this policy influence. That's an unbeatable combination. The other thing that impressed me about the institute announcement is how Clark positioned it. He's not presenting this as an Anthropic trying to control AI development. He's positioning it as a way to ensure that the benefits of AI are distributed broadly, that the risks are managed responsibly. So, the messaging is important because it does address one of the biggest criticisms of AI companies, which is that they're developing these incredibly powerful technologies behind closed doors and then releasing them without adequate consideration of the consequences. So, by creating an

55institute that's essentially independently and focused on public benefit, Anthropic is getting ahead of that criticism. Anthropic is basically saying and getting ahead of the criticism, and they're just saying like we're not all about profits. We're actually thinking about the broader implications. We're putting resources into making sure that this technology can benefit everyone. So, now you can argue that this is just a good PR report, and maybe it is. But even if that's the case, it's still a smart strategy because it aligns with their business interests with the public interest messaging. They can pursue aggressive growth in developer market while maintaining this reputation as responsible AI company. And their developer market is where the real money is anyways. Consumer chat applications are hard to monetize directly. This is

40why you're seeing ads in your chat. It's annoying. And you're going to see more of it. But the developer tools that we're actually using to build and these enterprise integrations coming along, API usage, that's where you can actually build sustainable high margin revenue streams. I see this in our own community. The people who are building successful AI businesses aren't the ones creating consumer apps. They're the ones that are building B2B tools, automating their business processes, and creating specialized development workflows. And for that kind of work, Claude, I think, is one of the best choices. So, when I look at Jack Clark launching this institute, I don't see a it's separate as like Anthropic or a different business strategy for Anthropic. I see it as like a part of a coordinated approach to dominate the AI

25market by basically both technically superior and ethically superior to like all the competition. Basically, with whatever OpenAI is doing, they're pivoting and doing the exact opposite. It's a great move because it's sustainable. Like OpenAI can try to compete with it on features or speed and marketing. I think it's just all hype. It's really just much harder to compete on trust and regulatory relationships. Once Anthropic establishes itself as the trusted AI company, that becomes a massive competitive advantage. And these partnerships with Nvidia and Google just reinforced all of the positioning. These companies want to work with AI providers who aren't going to create regulatory headaches or public relation problems. And Anthropic's safety-first approach makes them an easy partner to justify.

12Like looking ahead, where does this put us in just a few months? I think we're going to see Anthropic continue to execute the strategy. They keep improving Claude's technical capabilities. They're expanding their enterprise partnerships, and they'll use the institute to influence AI governance in ways that happen to benefit their actual business model. As someone who is building with these tools every day, I'm okay with that. It's the choice between the company that's purely profit-driven and a company that's profit-driven, but also genuinely concerned about safety and public benefit. I think I will take the second option. So, the results also speak for themselves. Claude Code is helping me build better applications faster. The API is reliable and cost-effective. The company seems to be making thoughtful decisions about safety

57and deployment, and now they're just putting resources into making sure AI development happens in a way that benefits everyone, basically. That's the kind of AI company I want to succeed, and based on the numbers, based on the partnerships, and based on all the moves launching like this institute, it looks like they're going to actually come out ahead. So, if you're building with AI and you want to learn how to create your own applications and automation systems, basically like what I'm doing in Mission Control, figure out agent role workflows, or you just want to get started in using Claude Code to ship your first app, come and join us in Shipping School. We have 53 members joining in the last 4 days. We work together to get your ideas shipped, and we have a great community of builders from all different areas of life. We have four bootcamps that we hold every

43week to actually help you take the next step. So, basically, you'll get a open Claude course in a Claude Code course. I'll put the link in the description. You can check it out. Get in there before the price goes up. This institute is just the beginning, and Anthropic is positioning itself to be the dominant AI platform for the next decade. It is doing it just by being both technical and the most trusted option. So, that's a combination that's hard to beat. Just be honest. So, if you guys haven't subscribed yet, please do down below. We release videos every few hours, basically, and we'll see you in the next one. Be blessed.
