00Anthropic keeps shipping features and they just shipped a feature that directly competes with open claw called Claude channels. Sound familiar? You might. Let me get into it. So, Claude code just integrated Claude channels and basically you can communicate with your agents through Telegram and Discord and the internet is losing its mind. VentureBeat is calling it an open claw killer. People on X are saying, "You don't need a Mac Mini anymore." Matthew Berman said, "We've built open claw." So, now I run open claw every single day. We now have 21 agents running on my Mac Mini right now generating video scripts, writing X posts, creating thumbnails, scouting trends, publishing clips, backing up memory 24/7.

47My entire content operation runs through my open claw setup. So, when I saw the headline saying open claw is dead, I needed to look at this closely and give you my perspective. And I have some honest thoughts that might surprise you. So, let me talk to you about what Claude channels is and how it differs from like an open claw setup. So, you run Claude code with a new flag called channels. You install plugin for Telegram or Discord. You create a bot through BotFather on Telegram, pair your account with the security code and now you can text Claude code from your phone. That's pretty cool. You send it a message, it processes the request, your local files and tools and it replies back through Telegram. This exact video that I'm making right now, I told one of my AI agents on open claw to make this exact

32video for me. Very similar, right? So, that's cool. 5-minute setup, you're texting your AI from your phone and it's working on a local machine. Sound familiar? So, if you're a developer who just wants to check a build status or fix a quick bug while you're away at Taco Bell or whatever, that's a generally useful feature. But, here's where open claw killer narrative falls apart. Let me walk you through what Claude channels can do versus what I'm actually running right now with my open claw setup. And I'm going to be straight up with you. Where channels wins because it does have some advantages and there are some drawbacks, but let's get into it. The platform support is number one. Channels launched with two platforms, Telegram and Discord. That's it. Open claw supports over 15 platforms out of

18the box. Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, iMessage, Signal, email, Slack, MSN Messenger, just kidding. I run mine through Telegram, but I switch to any of those tomorrow if I wanted to. Anthropic said they'll add more platforms and the community can build connections through MCP, of course. But, right now it's two versus 15. The second thing is model flexibility. This is the big one that nobody's really covering. Claude channels only works with Claude. That's it. So, if tomorrow Google drops a model that's amazing, that's twice as good at coding, you can't use it with channels. So, with open claw I can use any model I want. Claude Opus, Claude Sonnet, GPT, Gemini, Ollama, Deep Seek, local models, whatever. I run Opus for content mainly

04and Sonnet for all the utility agents. And I can mix and match models for different tasks based on what works best. So, that flexibility is worth more than people realize. Real quick, before we keep going, if you're watching this and you want to actually build with some of these tools than just watch videos about them, then you're going to want to check out our community down below, Shipping School. We have a full Claude code course, a full open claw course, and four live bootcamps every single week where we actually help you get set up from scratch. [music] Like actually set this thing up, not just watch a tutorial and figure it out by yourself. And we also provide one-on-one coaching, so you could book a call with me, we could share screens, and I can help you get Claude code or open claw running on your machine. That's it, no fluff. I built this

50community because watching YouTube's only gets you so far. We launched it just 3 days ago and we have over 55 members. You need people around you who are actually building, people who hold you accountable and coaches who can help you when you get stuck. I'll put the link in the description down below. Get in now before the price goes up. Third thing is is the multi-agent orchestration. This is where the comparison isn't even close. Claude channels is one session, just one brain. So, you text it, it does a little thing in the background, it texts you back, says, "Hey, amazing, it's all done." That's a single agent. I'm running 21 agents that coordinate with each other at 5:00 a.m. all the way to 12:00 p.m. and they all go hand in hand with each other. We have one that fires off at

355:00 a.m., 6:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m. And the GZA, he writes the newsletter at 8:00 a.m. ODB, he scouts the podcast guests. Method Man cuts the long-form clips in the short form. Masta Killa publishes those clips to four different platforms. Memory sync pushes everything to two different beta databases every 4 hours. These agents talk to each other through the shared files in the databases. The output of one of these agent becomes the input of the next. You cannot do that with Claude channels. It's not designed for it. It's a single chat session with a messaging bridge. Is it really the open claw killer? >> [laughter] >> I don't know. Leave in the comments down below. The fourth thing is scheduling. I have cron jobs, time schedules. Ghostface runs at 5:00 a.m. every

21morning whether I'm awake or not. My agents work while I sleep. Claude channels has no native scheduling. You have to keep a terminal session open. If the terminal closes, the channel dies. With open claw, my agents run persistent services that survive reboots. They've been running nonstop for weeks. Fifth, the memory. I just built a four-layer memory system today. Bootstrap files that survive every session, daily logs that capture everything we do, super memory which is semantic knowledge graph that understands relationships between facts, and Neon Postgres QL database for structured data storage. My agents search both systems before every task and write the results back to both systems after every task is completed.

07They literally learn and get better over time through a weekly feedback loop. If you want that type of system, I have it down below. It's called content machine. You're welcome. Claude channels gives you whatever Claude code's default memory is, which is a markdown file on a disk that's get compacted when the context window fills up. No semantic search, no external database, no evolving knowledge graph. And I'm going to be straight up and honest with you about where Claude channels wins here because it does have some real advantage. Security. You know, this is Anthropic's strongest argument. Open claw has a critical vulnerability earlier this year with a CVSS score of 8.8. Security researchers found over 50,000 exposed instances, about 12% of

52its computer skills in the registry were malicious. That's real and that matters. Claude code runs in a sandbox with explicit permissions. Actions require approval. Enterprise admins control what's enabled. If you're a company worried about security, channels might be the safer bet for you. Also, the ease of setup. 5 minutes to get Claude channels running. Open claw takes a little bit of time to get it going properly and people can over-engineer the setup and really break things and then give up. Especially if you want a full agent pipeline like I have, it took me 45 days to build this out. Hours and hours and hours every single day. And just now, within the last 10 days, it's working flawlessly. And that's why I had the need to build a community called

39Shipping School to help people get through that learning curve. We have 110 members, by the way, in 11 days. Check that out. Link down below if you're looking to get help. Channels is generally easier to get started with and that's Anthropic's point of view for all this. Open claw is not as simple, you know. So, the Anthropic brand in general is going for security, ease of use. You know, if you're an enterprise buyer as well, you're more comfortable paying Anthropic for a managed product than running an open-source software your security hasn't even audited. You know, and that's just a business reality. The next thing is the skills ecosystem. I have to say, open claw has ClawHub with hundreds of community-built skills, calendar integration, email management, web scraping, all of that. You install a skill and your agent can do something

25new. Claude channels only supports official plugins during its preview and there's no community marketplace, you know, no third-party tools unless Anthropic approves them. And that is a massive difference for anyone who wants to extend what their agent can do. The next one is cost. Open claw is free and open source. You bring your own API key, you pay for the tokens you use. Claude channels requires a Claude Pro or Max plan. For a lot of people just getting started, the open-source approach is more accessible. The next thing is, and this one's kind of subtle, but very important. Open claw is model infrastructure. It's the operating system for AI agents. Channels is a feature inside one company's product. So, if Anthropic changes their pricing or depreciates channels or pivots their

10strategy entirely, you're basically stuck. Open claw is open source. Nobody can take it away from you. Your agents, your data, your machine. My actual take is that Claude channels an open claw killer? No. No way. Not yet, anyways. It's more like Anthropic is attempting to challenge open claw by shipping all these features. It makes it sound cool. It's basically more like Anthropic is building iPhone 1 while open claw is already on iPhone 15. I'm sorry to say. Stone me if you want to. It's okay. Here is what is significant. A $60 billion company just validated the entire thesis behind open claw. They look at how people use always-on AI agents through messaging apps and said, "Well, yes, this is the future. Let's do it. We need

55to build this into our product. That's not a threat, that's just confir- confirmation and validation. If you really think about it, turn your brain on. When Microsoft built Teams, did it kill Slack? No. Does anyone use Microsoft Teams, by the way? It validated the category. When Google built Docs, did it kill Notion? Both grew because the market expanded. Anthropic building channels just means more people will discover that messaging your AI agent is the way to work. Some of them will use channels, many of them will want more power and flexibility and end up on Open Claw. I love it. I think the best setup might be a little bit of both. You know, use Claude Code with channels for quick coding tasks when you're on the go. Use Open Claw for your full autonomous agent pipeline at home. They solve different problems at

40different scales. If you're struggling to keep up with content, well, I'm about to save you about 40 days worth of work. [music] I built something called Content Machine. It's 10 AI agents that run on the Open Claw orchestration, and they handle everything. Scripts, [music] thumbnails, X posts, blogs, outreach, clips, newsletters, all of it. So, I went from 1,000 subscribers to 4,000 subscribers on YouTube in 7 days using this exact system. Every single morning, I wake up [music] and the content's already done. I spend maybe 15-20 minutes reviewing and approving them, and I move on with my day. It works for any niche, fitness, finance, [music] real estate, marketing, whatever you're building, and it is 100% completely

25customizable to your [music] use case. So, you get the mission control dashboard, all of the cron jobs, everything I've built over the last 40 days helping me gain more and more people to subscribe and join the community. So, you plug in your own thing and it molds it to you. It learns how you talk and it writes so it doesn't sound like AI slop. $97 one-time, it's not a subscription. I'll put the link down below and you'll thank me later. Anthropic has been on an absolute tear this month. They've shipped over at least 10 major features just in the last week. I can't even keep up. You know, they shipped Dispatch for co-work, which lets you text Claude from your phone and it runs tasks on your desktop. They also shipped a voice mode for Claude Code. You can now talk right in your terminal. I just use Whisper flow anyways, but

11still cool. They shipped the loop command for recurring long-running tasks, scheduled tasks in co-work. That's pretty cool. And now channels is the newest thing that just dropped today. All in one month, that's pretty impressive execution. I do give them credit. But every single one of those features is something Open Claw has had for at least 2 months now. Messaging from your phone? That was day one. Voice interaction? We've had that. Recurring tasks? We've been there. I've had cron jobs running since early February. Background processing? My agents never stop. Anthropic is building towards where Open Claw already is. You know, I'm not worried about channels. I'm excited about it. Every feature Anthropic ships, you know, ends up making the AI agents more mainstream and another person who might discover Open Claw and realize,

56"Hey, they want full power version." Let me give you a real example of what I mean. You know, this morning I woke up and my agents had already done all the content work for me. Five video scripts, five video outlines, 15 thumbnails, five X posts, five X outreach for our Build in Public podcast, one blog post, three newsletters, scouted trending topics, published clips to four platforms, and backed up all my memory to two databases, all right when I was getting my cup of coffee. So, you know, and I'm not saying that to brag. It's just like I want to be able to wake up and have the work done so I can get to work on filming these videos. And that's not something Claude Channels can do, you know, not even close. That's not something any single agent in a chat session can do. That is an orchestrated team of specialized agents running on

42schedules, sharing contexts, and learning from their own performance every single week. And that's exactly what I'm building inside of Shipping School. People helping people build their idea. Not just one chatbot you can text. We're over that. That's lame. But an entire team of AI agents that run your whole business while you sleep, now that's what I'm cooking with. We have over 110 builders in the group right now. Like I said, in 11 days, we have six boot camp calls, and we're looking to add a boot camp call literally every hour. That is the mission. Every hour we have a teacher. We have an expert. I can only do so much. Hey, if we're hiring, you know, if you're looking. Uh if you built something cool, just put a message down below and I can get get in contact with you. You know, and we're mainly focusing on people that have no technical experience, no coding

28background, and helping them getting set up with their own agent pipelines. Maybe they have a business or they work in fitness, finance, or they want to start their own SaaS. That's what we're looking to help. We're looking to help those people that are really wanting to get started with implementing AI in their life and make them money doing so. So, if you're watching this and thinking, "I want what he has," that's what Shipping School is for. We do live calls every week. We walk you through every step. We also have courses in there, but we're more focused on hands-on learning. We have a Claude Code course and an Open Claw course, but we really try to walk with you through every step that you're going through. You know, if you're struggling or you're stuck on a bug or you're looking for that ideation or maybe you need help getting your first customers, that's what we're working with. You know, from

14installing Claude Code and Open Claw to building your first agent to setting up a full pipeline like mine. The bottom line is Claude Channels is a cool feature. It does make Claude Code better, but it's not a replacement for Open Claw at all, you know, any more than like a walkie-talkie is a replacement for a phone network. I mean, come on now. Different scale, different capability, it's just a different vision altogether. And if you got value from this breakdown, hit subscribe, hit the notification bell, and if you need a little help, just look at the links down below. We're trying to build for the future here and trying to help as many people as we can. You know, and just let me know, what is your feedback? Drop a comment down below. What do you think Anthropic is doing? And where are you at in your journey? We release videos about four to six times a day, so make sure you stay in touch and stay tuned with

00the latest AI news. You guys have a blessed night. We'll see you tomorrow.
